Year 2000 compliance efforts...

Fortress-IM, the newest version of Fortress Infrastructure Manager software, helps companies establish a process for formulating and enacting Y2K compliance plans, a method for allocating resources to meet those demands, and a system for managing and documenting the workflow in order to become Y2K compliant. The Year 2000 is less than 450 days away. Giga Information Group estimates that 60 percent of companies have either not begun a Y2K project or are not making significant progress through existing Y2K efforts. Fortress-IM v. 3.0 provides the important "big picture" for management on how much effort is required to become compliant based on the company's Y2K action plan, how much budget has been expended and what resources are needed to fix the problem. This technology can help a company that is already successfully handling the Y2K issue see potential problems before they become crises, and it can also help a company that still needs to establish the plans for a Y2K compliance program. Fortress-IM adds a "management layer" to the compliance process to track, analyze, model, and plan needed fixes. It enables IT managers to analyze the skill sets and schedules of a company's IT staff and match the right staff people with the work that needs to be done. Fortress-IM provides a monitor to the ongoing process and as unexpected problems arise, incorporates the needed work into the overall plan. It also tracks how much has been spent on the project, and where. After the Y2K crisis has subsided, Fortress-IM remains as an effective tool that can help a corporation implement IT Infrastructure Management practices for the future. IT Infrastructure Management is the synchronization of the IT management process with a company’s overall business objectives. Fortress-IM offers a comprehensive solution for dealing with the Y2K issue, ERP implementations, and IT Infrastructure Management. It is the only solution that helps a company track compliance efforts while also providing managers with the critical information needed to effectively utilize IT assets and supplies and complete a Y2K action plan. Fortress-IM is ideal for consulting companies that are charged with overseeing and managing Y2K compliance efforts for clients, as well as corporations that need help to begin or complete implementation of a Y2K in-house compliance program.
