BancTec announces new interface to link its software-enhanced S-Series Scanners...

with FormWare Corporation products. This new integration module will ease the flow of information from BancTec's S-Series and DS-2610 scanners to FormWare Corporation's InScript recognition engine and the FormWare Enterprise Edition forms processing software. The interface is written for BancTec's SpeedFIRST software, a Windows-based scanning application instrumental in giving users full access to all of the many features their BancTec scanners offer. With SpeedFIRST, users can customize their high-speed scanners to the specifications that make the most sense for their particular forms processing needs. In a separate announcement, Banctec, Inc. (NYSE:BTC) announced it has joined with NCS (NASDAQ: NLCS), a leader in customer satisfaction survey services, to design an affordable customer satisfaction survey service for community banks nationwide. NCS will write and distribute the survey as well as manage the survey data collection and provide relevant and user-friendly reporting of the survey for BancTec Support Products' community banking clients. BancTec will market this service through its Support Products group. After the survey results have been compiled, the information will be added to NCS's database of community banking benchmark data and a report will then be sent to the bank. Furthermore, the industry-wide information in the database will be available to those who wish to participate in the sharing and comparison of data. This service will be available through BancTec Support Products in late 1998. For more information, visit Banctec's Website at www.banctec.com

Box Hill Systems Corp. (NYSE: BXH) unveils enhanced version of the Fibre Box...

its Fibre Channel RAID storage system. This updated version implements advanced technology called "SAN Spanning." SAN Spanning, developed by Box Hill for the Fibre Box, allows data to be distributed among multiple SANs, empowering the system with dramatically increased fault-tolerance and enhanced bandwidth. These benefits are essential for information management in many of Box Hill's market segments, including ERP, online transaction processing (OLTP), multimedia and broadcasting. On a Fibre Channel host system without SAN Spanning, data is at risk. If the host bus adapter (HBA) or a SAN component fails, the entire system fails. With SAN Spanning, fault-tolerance is virtually ensured by the ability to add multiple HBAs and SAN hardware. Government agencies drastically lower cost of document imaging with new technology from IMAGE-X...

IMAGE-X has broken the traditional cost barrier with its new Image Vault Edition solution. Administrators wishing to take advantage of the cost savings associated with electronic document storage and retrieval can test the system over the Internet. The first step is to point your browser to http://www.imagexx.com/government, bookmark it, and click on the icon to download a free image-viewing plug-in. Once the Visionshape plug-in for TIFF images is installed, click on any of the hyperlinks on the right side of the Wilkinson County home page. The Wilkinson County demo site features typical government applications ranging from an Auditor's Claims application to a District Attorney's FSB Check Remittance application. The applications are "shared vault" imaging solutions, which offer government agencies a low cost solution to document imaging. Each application is customized to the department's needs and allows multiple users (with password access) to scan (capture) and retrieve digital copies of documents over a local area network, a wide area network, or the Internet, if desired. Taking advantage of existing networks, NT servers and desktop PCs, a ten-user Image Vault Edition can be implemented for less than five hundred dollars per month. The low monthly fee includes the client application, a custom image index database and a 20-25 ppm scanner. A onetime training and installation fee is additional. The Image Vault Edition is built with the same file management application as our Enterprise Edition now in use in San Francisco County, CA; Clark County, NV; Riverside County, CA; King County, WA; Stanislaus County, CA; United States Tax Court and other public and private organizations. This architecture allows an Image Vault Edition solution to graduate easily to a department-wide solution without re-indexing the stored documents. The department's line-of-business application can be integrated into the imaging system at a future date. For more information call 805-964-3535, fax 805-683-8525, or visit www.imagexx.com.
